The SACPLAN online platform allows for self-registration of new user profiles or claiming existing professional profiles on the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN) online platform.
The system accommodates two distinct paths:
Note: Registered planners accessing the portal for the first time can alternatively click the link labeled 'Click Here' under the text 'Already a Planner and have not used the portal before?'. Both paths initiate the verification process.
Before proceeding to the registration form, the system must verify your identity to prevent duplicate records and link legacy profiles.
The system will perform a real-time database lookup:
On the Step 1 - Register your basic information screen, provide or verify your essential details:
Click the Register button. A 'Success' notification will confirm your basic profile configuration.
Upon successful registration, you will be automatically redirected to the core Sign In screen.
If you are an existing SACPLAN registered planner but have never used this online portal before, you will not receive an OTP for a password reset. This is because your member data exists in our records, but you have not yet created a portal account.
You need to register for the portal first, even if you are an existing member. Please follow the steps under 'How do I access the Portal Registration?' to create your online account. The system will automatically link your historical records to your new digital credentials during this process.
Once you have successfully registered and signed in for the first time, you will be able to use the password reset functionality if needed in the future.
Once authenticated, you will be brought directly into your personal dashboard to fulfill the Planner Registration wizard. Your workflow tracking block will initialize with a status of 'Draft'.
Locate the '2. Current Employment Details' workspace block. Complete the following fields:
Map your historical employment sequentially:
If your institution or degree is not listed:
This module is required for 'Candidate Planner' status. You must link your profile to your accredited professional mentor:
Optional: If you don't have an approved mentor, download the 'Candidate Supervisor application form.pdf', complete it offline, and upload it to the required document section.
Scroll to the '4. Required Documents' grid workspace. You must upload digital copies for all itemized checklist annexures:
To attach a document file:
Directly beneath your document repository, the portal displays your active Fee Structure Breakdown. To commit all current fields to database memory without transmitting the final application for review, scroll back up to the master control actions card and click the orange 'Quick Save' button. This securely locks your parameters as a 'Status: Draft' file profile, enabling safe session logouts.
Before your profile can advance from draft status, you must complete the Declaration block at the base of the registration wizard.
Accepting the Oath: You are required to officially make an Oath and Declare your compliance by selecting the checkbox labeled 'Do you accept the above?'. This verifies:
Once you have verified your form data and checked the declaration acceptance box, locate the master control action cards to select your finalization route:
Once your payment has been processed and your status transitions from a draft profile, your application moves into the formal council queue.
Important Notice: Please allow sufficient time for the SACPLAN administration team to thoroughly assess your registration details, verify all uploaded academic and identity annexures, and complete background validation checks. You will receive an automated notification at your registered email address as soon as your application profile status changes.
The Personal CPD Record workspace displays active compliance linkages and historical rows:
Clicking 'Add Activity' opens the Personal CPD Activity Details data-entry form wizard. Complete the mandatory parameters sequentially:
Critical System Requirement: You must explicitly click the orange 'Save' button to commit your core details to the database repository before attempting to upload files.
To connect an official event row directly to your professional profile record, click on the target event line in the search ledger to open the master CPD Event Details workspace.
If required, you can review any official pre-attached documentation under the 'Linked Documents' grid.
Once you have linked yourself to an official activity or committed an RSVP, you can track your attendance status and finalize submission proofs using the dedicated ledger tracking view.
To maintain an active professional status, registered planners must remain in 'Good Standing' by keeping personal/employment data up to date and settling annual statutory fees. The portal provides an automated financial and certification dashboard to manage this.
If your Balance ledger displays an outstanding amount, you must settle it to unlock your official documentation.
Note: For special payment installations or queries, contact accounts@sacplan.co.za.
Once your data profile updates are processed and your account balance is in check, the portal automatically recognizes you as being in good standing, enabling self-service credential generation.
To preserve data integrity, the portal utilizes two separate update validation protocols:
Step 1: Mutate Your Core Planner Details
Step 2: Tracking Pending Updates via the Profile Updates Hub
Once submitted, an automated notice alerts council administrators to review your pending table rows. Administrators will evaluate the current and proposed values side by side:
To return to your primary profile workspace at any time, click the orange 'Back' button.
